Competition Images and Winter Convention

Hello everyone!
2 posts in a week? yes, I'm getting back into it - I promise!!

This past weekend Jeff and I(Tracy) attended our annual Professional Photography Convention in Des Moines. We have 2 conventions each year, one in October and one in February. The February one is 5 days long, morning to night all photography! Its like the best vacation ever!

Photographers from all over Iowa come to Des Moines for these days to learn, discuss, shoot, and talk with other photographers! We all come home with our heads packed full of new ideas on how to change and improve our businesses and our shooting!

On top of all the learning we also have fun with all of our photog friends! We also always enter Print Judging. We take our best (usually 4) images from the year, or even shoot specific images, to make technically perfect in every way we know how! They get judged and all prints that get a high enough score get to be sent onto a National Competition! Its pretty cool when we get good enough scores for that!

I just wanted to share our Competition Images as well as some random ones from the Convention!

Lindsey and her friends came in last week, we had a great time with this shoot! Mr. William and Mr. Oliver also came in this month. We were lucky enough to meet this boys, they were very cute and charming.

New Year, New Blog Post

It's been awhile since our last blog post, so we thought it was time to update everyone on what's been going on at Designer Images Photography! We've entered the "slow season"- a time for us to get caught up and brainstorm new ideas for 2011. So far, 2011 has been off to a great start. We've done quite a few childrens sessions, and we thought we would share some of our super-cute (and fun!) kiddos with you all!

Amos&Alison

Amos and Alison were married September 4th. They wanted a very non traditional look to their images and we were happy to oblige! We started with the two of them at our studio and went from there! We had a great time and the day was just beautiful!

Cortez Wedding

Abbie and Anthony were married July 31st. The day was hot, but that didn't bother the two of them! We had such a great time at their wedding! They are both positive people who are so easy to be around! Neither one of them could stop their smiles the whole day!
